Conveniently located opposite the Stockbridge Sunday Market, this branch is guaranteed to welcome you with a warm greeting and beautiful display of produce.

Our Morningside store is in the heart of the Southside of Edinburgh, serving loyal customers since 2003. In 2018, the Cheese Lounge was nestled into the back of the store, designed for a casual and relaxed dining experience. We encourage you to retreat away from the busy shop floor and enjoy a cheeseboard and glass of wine, in peace. 

Located on Edinburgh’s most photographed street, 1993 saw the doors of the Mellis’ first shop up and running for trade. What started as a hidden, damp cove perfect for maturing cheese, is now recognised as an iconic tourist destination. The Victoria Street store is effortlessly charming, perfect for picking up a gift equipped for travel (we can vacuum seal), or, grabbing a cheese platter to go whilst you wander the cobbled streets. 

Nestled on the High Street, Mellis’ St Andrews store joined the colourful array of independent retailers in the early 00’s. Providing not only cheese, the St Andrews store is also known for fantastic bread made locally – quite the pairing. Much like the area, the St. Andrews team is close-knit and always ready to provide a helping hand. 

The Mellis’s original maturing room, Glasgow was the hub for storing and caring for all cheese and products. In 1995, Glasgow became its own store and has been a familiar favourite on Great Western Road ever since. Recently refurbished, it holds its very own charcuterie room where staff can slice your desired meat to order. The Glasgow store, much like the people of Glasgow, is a real treasure. 

In late 2024 the Mellis family acquired an old butchers shop that had been part of London’s, Crouch End high street for over 100 years. In this time, the historic shop had served the neighbourhood with quality meat and provisions. The original Victorian tiles have been uncovered and stripped back to unveil its original mortar. Soon, Mellis Cheese will continue the legacy of quality service to the community and open officially as a cheese shop, highlighting the very best cheese, dairy and provisions.
